MANILA, Philippines, November 26, 2025 — AIA Philippines Life and General Insurance Company, Inc. (AIA Philippines), formerly Philam Life and one of the country’s premier life insurance providers, and BPI AIA Life Assurance Corporation (BPI AIA), the bancassurance partnership between AIA Philippines and the Bank of the Philippine Islands, have once again been honored at the 2025 Golden Arrow Awards, receiving distinctions for their sustained excellence in corporate governance and ethical business leadership.
For AIA Philippines, this is the eighth consecutive year of being honored with a Golden Arrow Award, and for BPI AIA, the sixth straight year. This year, AIA Philippines received a Two-Arrow recognition while BPI AIA was awarded Three Arrows.
This reflects each company’s continued efforts in strengthening governance frameworks, fostering stakeholder trust, and delivering long-term value creation, a critical priority as Filipinos increasingly seek transparency, accountability, and reliability from financial and insurance institutions. Because the Philippines aims to further elevate its position in ASEAN corporate governance rankings, recognitions such as these add momentum to efforts that promote a stronger, more competitive, and globally aligned business environment.
The Golden Arrow is awarded to organizations that achieve at least 80 points in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) assessment, which evaluates corporate governance practices against Philippine regulations and internationally recognized standards. Criteria include protection of shareholder rights, equitable treatment, disclosure and transparency, board responsibilities, and stakeholder engagement.
“We are proud to once again be recognized by the Institute of Corporate Directors,” said Melita Teo, Chief Executive Officer, AIA Philippines.
“Earning another Golden Arrow distinction reaffirms that strong governance remains at the core of how we operate and how we protect the trust of our customers, partners, and stakeholders.”
AIA Philippines and BPI AIA continue to strengthen their governance structure across areas such as board oversight, compliance, enterprise risk management, and sustainability stewardship, aligned with AIA’s purpose of helping people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives and ensuring long-term value creation.
