Filipinas Life changes its name to Ayala Life Assurance Incorporated (ALAI), a fully-owned subsidiary of BPI and the life insurance of the Ayala Group.

Philippine American Life and General Insurance Co. (Philam Life) acquires 51% of ALAI and forges a joint venture with BPI to form BPI-Philam—the bancassurance arm of AIA in the Philippines. With its significant growth, AIA becomes the second largest life insurance company in the world.

AIA Group Limited is successfully listed on the main board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, the third largest IPO ever globally at that time.

In just five years, BPI-Philam already ranks as one of the top 5 life insurers in the Philippines in total premium income.

For six consecutive years, BPI-Philam is recognized by the London-based magazine World Finance as the Best Insurance Company in the Philippines for being an innovative digitalization and customer service industry player.

AIA Philam Life takes on the name AIA Philippines to mark a new chapter in the company's 75-year history, embodying the brand's local expertise and global capabilities. BPI-Philam follows suit, unveiling its new identity as BPI AIA.

BPI AIA launches PamilyaProtect, an affordable life insurance plan, exemplifying the company’s mission to make insurance accessible for all Filipino families. It is the first of its kind in the country and is available for purchase via Facebook Messenger.
