Important Update: Legacy Fund Changes for BPI AIA VUL Policies
BPI AIA is implementing key updates to the fund offerings of its Variable Unit-Linked (VUL) policies. This move is part of an ongoing strategy to provide access to higher-performing and expertly managed investment options that better align with long-term financial goals.
A group of older investment funds, referred to as Legacy Funds, will soon be pulled out from the company’s fund offerings. This change is being implemented in three stages:
- Phase 1 – Restriction on Legacy Funds for new policies (Already implemented)
- Phase 2 – Restriction on Fund Switching and Add Fund transactions (Effective August 15, 2025)
- Phase 3 – Restriction on Renewals and Top-ups (To be implemented)
Currently in Phase 2, the following BPI AIA Legacy Funds will no longer be available for Fund Switching/Adding Fund starting August 15, 2025:
- BPI-Philam Equity Index Fund
- BPI-Philam Growth Fund
- BPI-Philam Odyssey Bond Fund
- BPI-Philam Odyssey Balanced Fund
- BPI-Philam Odyssey High Con Equity Fund
- BPI-Philam Equity Value Fund
- BPI-Philam Active Allocation Fund
- BPI-Philam US Dollar Bond Fund
- BPI-Philam Odyssey ASIAPAC Hi Div Equity Fund
- BPI-Philam Odyssey Phil Dollar Bond Fund
- BPI-Philam World Equity Fund
Any policies with funds that are currently invested in any of these will remain as such unless policy owners choose to switch it to the new funds.
BPI AIA offers fund types that are more actively managed and adjusted regularly. These funds are more resilient with regard to market volatility, and may therefore provide better long-term stability and returns. Fund switching into these new options may be done at any time, subject to the terms of the policy:
- BPI-Philam Peso Bond Fund
- BPI-Philam Balanced Fund
- BPI-Philam Equity Index Fund 2
- BPI-Philam Philippine High Dividend Equity Fund
- BPI-Philam Growth Fund 2
- BPI-Philam Global Equity Fund
- BPI-Philam US Dollar Bond Fund
- BPI-Philam Global Bond Fund
- BPI-Philam US Equity Fund
